Many of us who study humanities and social sciences in the United States and elsewhere outside of Korea face various challenges in researching and teaching Korea/Koreans in specific fields.

The 2021 Summer Korean Studies Colloquium at the University of Pennsylvania would like to invite you all to conversation with five experts who have long engaged in Korean Studies broadly defined in Sociology, Literature, Anthropology, Film Studies, and History, respectively.

Our speakers will share their experiences and insights into challenges and significance of studying Korea/Koreans in their specific fields and also of teaching Korea-related courses in the context of changing political and cultural contexts in the United States.

Please come and share your stories: How do you study and teach Korea/Koreans in your field?
