The James Joo-Jin Kim Program in Korean Studies is pleased to offer the following funding opportunities. We are currently soliciting applications for awards in the following categories:
- Kim Program Faculty Research Grant - Kim Program will award up to two (2) grants, each in an amount up to $2,000, to assist a member of the University of Pennsylvania faculty to conduct research on Korea. All faculty members, including Korean language lecturers and other instructors of Korea-related courses, are eligible to apply. [Download Application]
- Kim Program Graduate Student Research Grant – Kim Program will award up to three (3) grants, each in an amount up to $2,500, to assist Penn graduate students in their research on Korea. Any student enrolled in a graduate degree program at Penn is eligible to apply. The grant can be used for transportation, per diem, research equipment, and other related expenses. - Kim Program Language Lecturer Professional Development Grant - Kim Program will award up to three (3) grants, each in an amount up to $1,100, to assist Korean language lecturers at the University of Pennsylvania with the cost of attending a conference or other professional development opportunities related to their work. - Kim Program Undergraduate Fellowship - Kim Program will recruit up to four (4) Undergraduate Fellows for the 2018–2019 academic year. Undergraduate Fellows will be awarded $2,000 at the end of the academic year upon satisfaction of all requirements outlined in the application. [Download Application]
