The James Joo-Jin Program in Korean Studies held the first Social Sciences Korea conference in December 2019 with the theme, Family Changes and Inequality in East Asia.

The authors of the papers presented in the conference successfully published their papers in the peer-reviewed journal, Demographic Research and now 8 papers, along with the introduction to the special issue by Hyunjoon Park (Director, the Kim Program), are available as a Special Collection in the journal. They are all freely available from https://www.demographic-research.org/special/30/

The Kim Program continues to support the academic conferences in both humanities and social sciences to promote research on Korea, particularly in comparative perspectives.
