Nancy Abelmann, Professor of Anthropology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

In the context of the rapid internationalization of the American undergraduate student body - in which South Koreans figure largely - Abelmann will discuss intra-ethnic othering practices, both among Korean Americans and among South Korean international students; and between these two populations. More broadly she will discuss the American response to this changing higher education demography.
