2018–2019 Undergraduate Fellow
Hometown: Hong Kong
Year: Class of 2020
Major: Communications
Minor: Cinema and Media Studies
Hain is a Communications major and Cinema and Media Studies minor. Hain was born in Korea but moved to Hong Kong when she was three years old and attended German Swiss International School, in which she learned English, Chinese and German, but never Korean. As she had only learned Korean from her parents and Korean television, she wanted to officially take a Korean class and thus took Korean for Heritage Speakers at Penn, in which she quickly formed an interest in becoming more involved in the Korean community and learning more about the language, culture and history.
In addition to being a Kim Program Undergraduate Fellow, she is a member of Phi Gamma Nu Business Fraternity and a photographer for the Daily Pennsylvanian. She was an intern for The Catstreet Art Gallery and an intern for Korean fashion magazine: Noblesse, where she worked in Korean for the first time.
