2018–2019 Undergraduate Fellow

Hometown: Duluth, Ga
Year: 2021
Major: Undecided, but considering Business Management and Korean Studies

Tise has been interested in languages all her life since she comes from a bilingual household. In high school she studied Chinese and French. However, during her Junior year of high school she received the NSLIY scholarship which allowed her to study abroad at Sookmyung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. After that experience she knew that she wanted to continue studying Korean in college, and hopefully study abroad there at some point.

Apart from being a Kim Program Fellow, Tise is also business manager for the Penn Hype dance team, an Intern at the Characted Lab, a psychology lab on campus, and a member on the Penn mock trial team.  With this fellowship Tise hopes to learn more about the political and historical side of Korea to supplement the cultural and linguistic knowledge she learned while studying abroad there.
